2017 Suzuki Dzire to compete with the Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan (Hyundai Xcent) and Chevrolet Sail.
Maruti Suzuki introduced the 2017 Maruti Dzire in India last month. It will have its market launch first in India on 16 May, with export markets set to get it as a Suzuki from probably later this year.
The South American nation of Columbia is one of the markets where the Maruti Swift Dzire is sold, and here goes by the name Suzuki Swift Sedan. A fresh report from El Carro Colombiano suggests that the country is expecting the 2017 Maruti Dzire to launch there as the 2017 Suzuki Dzire. It will compete with the Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan, which is known as the Hyundai Xcent in India.
At the media premiere of the 2017 Dzire, Maruti said it had exported 60,000+ units of the Swift Dzire. With a more cohesive design, better interior space and a bigger boot, the vehicle no doubt will have a better crack at gaining market share for Suzuki in Africa, Middle East and LATAM.
The 2017 Maruti Dzire is based on the new lightweight and rigid Heartect platform and is up to 105 kg lighter than the outgoing model. The all-new model, which drops 'Swift' from the name, measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,515 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. The redesigned Dzire is 40 mm wider and has a 20 mm longer wheelbase.

The 2017 Maruti Dzire carries over the K12B 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine from the previous generation model. Transmission choices will include 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual.
The petrol model delivers 22 km/l, while the diesel model will have fuel economy rating of 28.40 km/l.
In India, bookings have officially commenced for a price of INR 11,000. The all-new model is expected to cost INR 50k-70k more than the outgoing model.
