Is 40 hp more powerful than the Aventador LP700-4.
Lamborghini launched the new Aventador S LP740-4 in India on March 3. The Italian manufacturer's new flagship is priced at INR 5.01 crores (ex-showroom), which can significantly increase as more optional features are added.
The Aventador S features a more aggressive bumper with a new splitter design, redesigned intakes for better cooling, new rear bumpers, and a redesigned exhaust outlet. Inside, the Aventador S borrows a few features from the limited run Aventador SV, such as a fully digital instrument cluster and an updated infotainment system. Apart from the Strada, Sport and Corsa driving modes, the Aventador S gets a new 'Ego' mode that allows the driver to individually customise the vehicle settings.
Powering the Aventador S is the familiar 6.5L V12 naturally aspirated petrol engine, which has been tuned to produce 40 hp more than the standard Aventador. It now outputs 740 PS at 8400 rpm and develops a peak torque of 690 Nm at 5500 rpm, sent to all wheels via a 7-speed ISR gearbox. It is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 350 km/h.
Another new feature of the Aventador S is rear wheel steering, which improves handling around corners. The exhaust system is 20 percent lighter than that of the Aventador and produces an enhanced note.
