Honda will offer the WR-V with the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines from Honda Jazz.

The Honda WR-V is based on the Honda Jazz, but is notably bigger for the more practicality expected from a crossover. Compared to the hatchback it's derived from, the WR-V has a 25 mm longer wheelbase, due to a different suspension mounting, and offers 21 mm more ground clearance. The boot space has been increased by 9 litres to 363 litres, but the crossover doesn't get 60:40 seats or the (Jazz's) Magic seats. Overall, the WR-V is 44 mm longer, 40 mm wider and 57 mm taller than the Jazz.

Honda will offer the WR-V with the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines from Honda Jazz. The four-cylinder petrol engine produces 90 PS at 6,000 rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm, while the four-cylinder diesel engine develops 100 PS at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. The petrol model gets a 5-speed manual transmission, while the diesel model is equipped a 6-speed manual transmission. Unlike the Jazz, the WR-V doesn't get a CVT.

The Honda WR-V's brochure isn't out yet, and so, specifications for specific trim levels are unknown for now. The top-end VX trim level, however, will have features like headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, faux skid plates, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, sunroof and 7-inch Digipad touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Wi-Fi and MirrorLink. On the safety quotient, Honda will offer ABS and dual front airbags as standard.
