The Mercedes-AMG S 63 (Facelift) has been showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The 2017 Mercedes-AMG S 63 features a distinctively styled front end, with the radiator grille in high-gloss chrome and AMG front apron with a black jet wing. Voluminous air inlets include two transverse fins for optimized engine cooling. The car rolls on 19-inch 10-spoke AMG forged wheels. At the rear, the AMG rear apron with black diffuser insert surrounds the two chrome-plated twin tailpipes of the AMG Performance exhaust system.

On the inside, the car gets an AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather; AMG sports seats with AMG nappa leather upholstery, an AMG-specific seat upholstery layout, and contrasting topstitching. It also includes AMG badges in the seat backrests at front and rear. The AMG widescreen cockpit merges the 12.3-inch instrument cluster with the 12.3-inch AMG-specific media display into a single unit offering high-resolution HD visualizations. The rear seats can recline up to 43.5 degrees.

Powering the 2017 Mercedes-AMG S 63 is an AMG 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine with 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. The powerplant produces 612 PS of power and 900 Nm of torque between 2,750 and 4,500 rpm. Working with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed sport transmission, the car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph but can be extended to 300 kmph via the optional AMG Driver’s package. As per the German regulations, the combined fuel efficiency stands at 11.2 km/l.
AMG sports suspension based on AIRMATIC and AMG High-Performance Composite Braking System enhance the car’s handling. The manufacturer recommended retail price for the performance sedan starts from 160,293 Euros in Germany.
