Last month, Hyundai had revealed that it has received 18,000+ bookings for the 2017 Hyundai Verna in India. Today, the company has announced that bookings have crossed 20,000 units.
The 2017 Verna is 4,440 mm long, 1,729 mm wide and 1,475 mm tall. It has a 2,600 mm wheelbase. Hyundai offers it with two engines: 1.6-litre Gamma Dual VTVT petrol and 1.6-litre U2 CRDi diesel. The petrol engine produces 123 PS at 6,400 rpm and 15.4 kgm (151.02 Nm) of torque at 4,850 rpm. The diesel engine develops 128 PS at 4,000 rpm and 26.5 kgm (259.88 Nm) of torque from 1,500-3,000 rpm. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic are the transmission choices.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna is available in E, EX, SX, SX (O) and SX+ trims. There are total 12 different configurations, divided equally into petrol and diesel engine models. Noteworthy features include projector headlamps with LED DRL & positioning lamps, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, automatic climate control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 3.5-inch driver information display, Arkamys sound system and ventilated seats. ISOFIX child seat mounts, Dual-front airbags and ABS are standard. Six airbags, reverse parking sensors and rear camera are available.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna’s prices range from INR 7,99,990-12,87,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). Hyundai promises to deliver 20,000 units at a special introductory price by the end of this year. With the bookings having crossed 20,000 units, the prices will likely increase soon.
