The 2017 Audi A5 Sportback measures 4,733 mm in length, 1,843 mm in width (2,029 mm with door mirrors open) and 1,386 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,824 mm. The second generation model sits on the MLB-Evo platform, utilised by the Q7, A4 and Q5, and will underpin the next-gen Audi A8 due this year. It is as much as 85 kg lighter compared to the previous generation.
The all-new Audi A5 Sportback is available with two TFSI and three TDI engines which are up to 22% more fuel-efficient and 17% more powerful. Specifically, the options are 140 kW (190 PS) 2.0-litre TFSI petrol, 185 kW (252 PS) 2.0-litre TFSI petrol, 140 kW (190 PS) 2.0-litre TDI diesel, 160 kW (218 PS) 3.0-litre TDI diesel and 210 kW (286 PS) 3.0-litre TDI diesel. 6-speed manual, 7-speed S-Tronic and 8-speed Tiptronic are the transmission choices. The Quattro all-wheel-drive system is available on select models.
Matrix LED headlights, dynamic turn signals, frameless doors, 19-inch wheels, LED tail lights, 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit fully-digital instrument cluster, 8.3-inch Audi MMI infotainment system, 755-watt, 19-speaker 3D Bang & Olufsen Sound System and ambient lighting with 30 colour choices are key features on the 2017 Audi A5 Sportback.
