Has a four-door coupe like stance.
Spyshots of the next generation Audi A8 test mule have been uploaded by Mr. Jonathan of AutoPlus, one of them revealing its LED taillight glow pattern. The 2018 Audi A8 will make its world debut next year and go on sale across the world in 2018.
Codenamed 'Audi D5', the design will be influenced by the Audi Prologue concept, featuring a wide Singleframe grille, LED headlamps (laser lighting could be optional) and a clean bumper design with silver accents. The side profile looks largely identical to the outgoing model, while the rear-end features sleeker OLED taillamps.
The interior could be brimming with gadgets and trimmed with the highest quality of materials. Like the new A4 and Q7, the design will be simple with far fewer buttons than before. Features such as semi-autonomous driving, MMI Touch gesture control, Virtual Cockpit, Bang and Olufsen audio system, individual rear seats and 4-zone climate control could be standard in the new A8 in some countries.

The fourth generation Audi A8 will be based on the MLB-Evo platform. With the new platform, the next gen Audi A8 is expected to be around 200 kg lighter than the outgoing model. Engine lineup will include 3.0L six- and 4.0L eight-cylinder engines available in petrol and diesel variants. It's unclear if the 6.3L W12 petrol engine will make the cut this time.
