The bikes will come with 24 to 48 changes.

Royal Enfield is reportedly working on the updated versions of its popular cruisers, Thunderbird and Classic. As per a new report on MotorOctane, the brand is planning to bring these machines sometime by the end of this year. The heavily updated bikes will come with 24 to 48 changes that include a more powerful headlamp along with better clutch and brakes. These would be sold alongside their existing variants in order to provide more choices to the prospective buyers.

The company currently offers the Thunderbird and Classic in two engine options, 350 cc and 500 cc. While the 350 cc engine is good for 19.8 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque, the 500 cc pumps out a maximum power output of 27.2 bhp with peak torque rated to 41.3 Nm, both coupled to a five-speed transmission unit. The upcoming updates are also reported to come with a more powerful motor with a better combustion efficiency.

Earlier it was reported that Royal Enfield was developing the next gen Classic and Thunderbird, under the codename D41 and D61. The updated versions of the current motorcycles could be a stop-gap solution until the all-new models are here.

Eicher’s subsidiary is also working on a 650 cc motorcycle that is meant to be exported to European and American markets only, a report suggested earlier. Meanwhile the brand continues expanding its reach by opening new dealerships in India and abroad.
