Maruti Vitara Brezza has a waiting period of 6-8 weeks - Report

Vitara Brezza has bagged over 5,600 bookings.

According to a report on Autocar Professional, the Maruti Vitara Brezza is likely to have a waiting period stretching up to 6-8 weeks. The car maker announced that it had received over 5,600 bookings as of March 11, 2016.

The compact SUV is produced at Maruti's Gurgaon plant, and the report states that Maruti is likely to have lost on a few days worth of production due to the agitation in Haryana. This, coupled with the overwhelming response, will lead to a near 2 month wait.

When asked about the start of deliveries, Maruti stated that first customer delivers are scheduled for this month end. Dealerships are poised to receive initial units around 24-25 March; currently the Vitara Brezza is unavailable for test drives or even display purposes.

Only a 1.3-liter diesel engine is on offer at the moment.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza is available only with the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine capable of 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. It returns an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 24.3 km/l, and is claimed to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 13.3 seconds.

A total of seven variants are on offer with prices ranging from INR 6.99 lakhs to INR 9.68 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
