Update - RS Kalsi, Executive Director at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, confirmed today evening to IndianAutosBlog.com that the Maruti Vitara Brezza has received over 5,600 bookings thus far.
Deliveries of the Vitara Brezza to commence later this month.
The recently-launched Maruti Vitara Brezza has garnered over 2,600 bookings, the company tweeted out recently. While the tweet mentions that 2,600 bookings were recorded in 24 hours, it should be remembered that several dealers started accepting bookings for the compact SUV since early-February.
The Vitara Brezza, available only with a diesel engine, is priced from INR 6.99 lakhs to INR 9.68 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. Deliveries of the Brezza are announced to start from the end of this month. Buyers can opt from seven variants, including a top-end variant with a dual-tone exterior color.
The 1.3-liter DDiS four-cylinder diesel engine in Brezza develops 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque, and delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 24.3 km/l. For now, only a 5-speed manual gearbox is on offer, though company officials indicate that an AMT could be introduced later in the lifecycle. The Brezza claims 0-100 km/h in 13.3 seconds.
