TVS Motor Company launched the TVS XL 100 in Uttar Pradesh in October 2015 and in Tamil Nadu last week. It is priced at INR 29,198 (ex-showroom, Uttar Pradesh) and at INR 29,539 (ex-showroom, Tamil Nadu).
The TVS XL 100 is powered by a 99.7 cc air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine that is tuned to produce 4.2 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 6.3 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. It is capable of delivering a fuel economy of 67 km/l (under simulated test conditions), and has a claimed top-speed of 60 km/l. The engine is mated to a single-speed gearbox via a Centrifugal Wet Type clutch.
The XL 100 is equipped with a telescopic fork, swing arm with hydraulic shocks, 80 mm drum brake upfront, 110 mm drum brake at the rear, 2.5 X 16 inch tyres mounted at a wheelbase of 1,215 mm, a four-litre fuel tank (with a 1.3-litre reserve), and halogen type headlamp, indicators and taillamp. The moped has a dry weight of 75 kg and a payload of 130 kg.

The TVS XL 100 is available in five colours – Black, Grey, Green, Blue and Red. The model is expected to be launched in the other states of India in the coming months.
