The Tata Hexa, revealed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, was today unveiled in its production specification at the Auto Expo 2016.
The concept measured 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and had a wheelbase of 2,850 mm, and these dimensions remain the same on the production model. Power comes from a 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine good for 156 PS and 400 Nm of torque.
Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox, Tata confirmed in a statement. The SUV gets four drive modes are available to choose from: Automatic, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough-Road.
Noteworthy features of the Tata Hexa include projector headlamps with signature LED lights, dual exhaust tailpipes, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), 8-way adjustable driver's seat, leather upholstery, 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Traction control, machine-cut 19-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, steering-mounted controls and a 5-inch touchscreen entertainment designed by Harman.
On the outside, the Hexa gets a floating roof effect with blackened pillars, skid plates and body cladding and roof rails. In its statement, Tata refers to the Hexa as a Lifestyle SUV, made for on- and off-road use.
