According to ET Auto, Toyota Kirloskar Motors will have a separate zone to display a range of hybrid vehicles at the Auto Expo 2016, one of which is the Toyota Corolla Hybrid.
Given that hybrid and electric vehicles were exempted from New Delhi's Odd-Even scheme, reports suggest that there was a rise in interest towards hybrids. An instance supporting this is the demand for the locally assembled Toyota Camry Hybrid which, according to TKM Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mr. N Raja, has increased from 45-50 units per month to 80 units in the first month of 2016. TKM sold over 1,000 Camry hybrid sedans in 2015.
Compared to the regular Corolla Altis sold in India, the Toyota Corolla Hybrid will feature a more-striking front fascia with LED strike-through, a twin bar chrome grille, a wraparound airdam and foglamp enclosure, with the foglamp pushed into the bumper, chrome alloy wheels, chrome garnish on the door.

The model sold in China packs a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine paired to an electric motor, developing 99 hp, to deliver a fuel efficiency of 20.40 km/l (in the Chinese driving cycle). It's unclear if the India-spec model will pack the above powertrain. China is the only market to feature a hybrid Corolla sedan.
