Second cosmetic update for Toyota's flagship SUV.
Instagram user 'hamad1two3' has posted more revealing images of the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser (facelift), which is expected to be announced in the coming months.
As can be seen, the heavily redesigned front is characterized by a large grille, which reminds us of the 2016 Toyota Tundra pickup, and rectangular headlight structures. The Land Cruiser facelift is also expected with LED headlights and new LED daytime running lights. Designers have given the 2016 Land Cruiser a new front bumper with smaller, chrome-enclosed foglight enclosures as well.
The rear of the SUV remains largely unchanged, save for a thicker chrome strip and mildly redesigned taillight enclosures which could get LED elements.
The image of the center console comparing the 2008, 2012 and the forthcoming 2016 model year Land Cruisers accurately give an idea of the changes in tow. Not only does the Land Cruiser facelift get a larger touchscreen display, even the buttons on the center console appear recessed, and give it an upmarket look. New dashboard trims and an all-new four-spoke steering wheel are other updates seen.

On the mechanical front, reports state that the Land Cruiser facelift will get a new 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine (likely the 'GD' engine which debuted on the new Hilux Revo), which will be offered as an entry-level variant. However, for the Indian market, the Land Cruiser facelift is likely to continue with the 4.5-liter V8 diesel engine, when it launches next year.
