Will rival the upcoming Fiat 500X Abarth, Nissan Juke Nismo.
Renault's Skunkwork's division, RenaultSport, is currently considering an R.S variant of the popular Renault Captur SUV to rival the likes of the Mini Countryman JCW, as well as the upcoming Abarth 500X and Nissan Juke Nismo.
An unofficial rendering by Auto Moto gives us an idea of what the Captur would look like with the R.S treatment. Similar to the Megane R.S and Clio R.S, the Captur R.S will sport an aggressive body kit characterized by larger intakes, lower bumpers, dual exhaust system, and the R.S badge under the Lozenge. The suspension will be tuned to R.S standards, featuring a firmer ride and lowered body height.
The interior will be customized to a performance theme equipped with Recaro seats, an R.S steering wheel, exclusive leather upholstery with contrast stitching, aluminum pedals, and sportier instrument dials.
Under the hood, the Renault Captur R.S will most likely borrow the 200 hp 1.6-liter turbocharged engine from the Renault Clio R.S 200. Power will be sent through an EDC dual clutch automatic gearbox to the front wheels. The report also states that it will feature a Launch Control feature for better 0-100 km/h acceleration figures.
The 2016 Renault Captur R.S is expected to be priced at around EUR 28,000 (INR 19.75 Lakhs).
