The 2016 Jaguar XJ has been launched in India at a starting price of INR 98.03 lakhs (ex-showroom, pre-OCTROI in Mumbai). It is offered in two diesel variants and one petrol variant.

The updated model can be characterised chiefly by the new LED headlamps, the "Double J" DRLs, chrome trims on windows and LED tail lights. The new XJ is loaded with features such as panoramic sunroof, rear seats with 3 massage programmes and memory, InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, 31.24 cm Instrument Panel Display, Deployable Rear Seat Entertainment System with 25.90 cm HD displays, Surround Camera System, 360 degree Park Distance Control, Park Assist, and All Surface Progress Control (ASPC).

The petrol version of the 2016 Jaguar XJ gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 240 hp and 340 Nm, while the diesel model is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged mill that has an output of 300 hp and 700 Nm. The former is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and the latter does the same in 6.2 seconds.
