Public world premiere at Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Chinese auto site AutoHome has posted images of the 2016 Audi A4 giving away vital design information much ahead of the car's public showcase at the Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September.
The headlights are cut in an inverted L-shape with LED turn signals and daytime running lamps. The radiator grille appears wider than the current car's and the bonnet will be ribbed with two lines on either side as opposed to the single lines on the current model.
The dashboard is a cost-down version of the Audi Q7's and features the same continuous air-vent design, gear selector, controller, HVAC controls, headlamp switches and free-standing MMI display. The layout is altered with fewer storage solutions and its unclear if this mule comes with the Audi Virtual Cockpit system, though the production model, depending on the variant, would have it besides the Matrix LED headlamp.
Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, member of the Board of Management of Audi AG and head of Audi’s Technical Development confirmed to IAB in Switzerland earlier this month that the 2016 Audi A4 would have its media premiere prior to the Frankfurt Motor Show.

As per other media reports, the car would be based on the second gen MLB platform and weigh 100 kg less than the outgoing version. It reportedly is getting 13 engines and an optional 9-speed automatic transmission.
