Will initially come with 2.0-liter petrol and diesel engines.

The new C-Class based SUV uses the sedan's MRA rear-wheel drive architecture, and replaces the long-standing GLK Class, which was exclusively available in left-hand drive. The new GLC however, will be made in left- and right-hand drive specifications, though interestingly the latter will have a 31/69 torque split favoring the rear wheels while the former gets a 45/55 split.
Like the new C Class, Mercedes will offer its trademark AIRMATIC air suspension package for the GLC as an optional fitment, and an off-road pack - which offers 30-50 mm extra ground clearance - will be available to customers as well.
At the time of the launch, the GLC will be available only with 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines paired to a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission, with Mercedes's famed 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. However, reports state that a more affordable rear-wheel drive variant will be added to the lineup later in the year, as will a plug-in hybrid and an AMG Sport model.
