Unveiling on June 17.
Ahead of its unveiling on June 17, AutoBild's artist has rendered the front, rear and dashboard of the Mercedes GLC Class. The GLC replaces the left-hand drive only GLK in Mercedes's line-up, and will rival SUVs like the BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60 when it goes on sale in Europe later this year.
It is based on the new C Class's rear wheel drive MRA platform, and is suitably designed along the lines of the new C Class as well. The publication further states that the interior will be carried over from the C Class, though the central COMAND system's screen size would be an inch larger than the C Class's unit, which for the Indian market gets a 7-inch system.
Starting the range of petrol engines will be a 156 PS four-cylinder petrol, while the range-topping engine will be a V6 unit with 333 PS. The more efficient diesels will be four-cylinder engines producing between 115 PS to 204 PS. Later in its lifecycle, the GLC will also get a hybrid variant with a 211 PS petrol engine paired to a 68 PS electric motor.

Base variants of the GLC will be rear wheel drive, and will get a 6-speed manual transmission. The variants marked for India though will likely be offered with AWD and an automatic transmission (a 7-speed DSG or a 9-speed AT).
