Opel has world premiered its A-segment city car, the Opel Karl, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The five-door car measures 3.68 m in length, 1.41 m wide and 1.48 m in height, with a wheelbase of 2.38 m.
Powering the car is a new 1-litre three cylinder 'ECOTEC' petrol engine that makes 75 hp, and comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The car weights 939 kilos, and offers almost 1,000 litres of luggage capacity inside (when the seats are folded).
Its feature list includes Lane Departure Warning, Hill Assist, City mode (lighter steering), Park Assist, cruise control, etc., depending on the trim level.
The car, priced starting at 9,500 Euros (INR 6.56 lakhs) in Germany, comes in 10 paint choices, and will be available in three trim levels, namely Essentia, Enjoy, and Cosmo.
The Karl will be launched on the European market in mid-2015. Further details can be found in the press release below.
