The new Yamaha FZ-S was previewed at the Auto Expo in the form of a near production concept. The updated motorcycle was caught testing a few times and seems ready to finally hit the market.

The new bikes have been given visual enhancements like a revised headlamp with body colored inserts, new tail piece with split seats, redesigned silencer, new tank extensions and a pair of new grab rails. The FZ-S would have a visor and body decals while the FZ would continue without these features.

There are no solid details about the powertrain but Yamaha could re-bore the motor to increase the displacement marginally from 153 cc with an aim of squeezing out more power and torque. The present version of the engine puts out 14 PS and 13.6 Nm of torque and comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

The 2015 Yamaha FZ series would compete with the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160, Honda CB Trigger and Suzuki Gixxer. The current FZ is priced around INR 72,000 and the new version is expected to set customers back a bit more.
