Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Karan Manocha, sent us 18 images of the 2015 Hyundai i20. The car was spotted on test in New Delhi.
An image showing the alloy wheel of the car confirms the presence of rear disc brakes (at least on the top-end model). Another image focussing on the taillight cluster indicates that Hyundai will give the hatchback LED elements for its brake lights.
The new i20 is expected to go on sale in India in the September-October period this year. India will be the first market to get the second generation i20.
Codenamed 'IB', the new i20 will launch with petrol and diesel engines. The motors will likely be carried over from the current generation model. The petrol lineup consists of a 1.2-liter four-cylinder Kappa engine and a 1.4-liter four-cylinder exclusively available with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The diesel i20 gets power from a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine.
Building on the success of the current generation model, expect the 2015 i20 to boast an impressive feature list (comprising of rear view camera, electrochromatic rear view mirror, engine starter button, keyless entry and so on) and a roomier cabin.
The new i20 will have its European debut at the Paris Motor Show this October.
