Available in both 2WD and AWD versions.
Honda has launched the updated (called series II) version of the CR-V soft-roader in Australia. Prices start at AUD 27,490 (equivalent to INR 14.1 lakh) and go up to AUD 46,375 (about INR 23.8 lakh).
With a total of 21,654 units of the CR-V sold in the Australian market, the updated model is expected to garner similar sales. Changes on the outside include a new grille, bumpers (both at the front and the rear), and the presence of LED daytime running lamps. The cabin gets piano-black panels with chrome surrounds.
Also, the 2WD (front wheel drive) variants now have the same trim levels as the AWD (all-wheel drive) version. The equipment list is decently long with reverse parking camera and Bluetooth-compatible entertainment system available on the standard trim. The top-spec AWD VTi-L ADAS variant gets active cruise control, lane assist, collision mitigating braking system (brakes automatically in case of a collision), etc.
Powering the 2WD version is a 2-litre i-VTEC engine that makes 152 hp @ 6500 rpm and 190 Nm of torque @ 4300 rpm. The 4WD version gets a larger 2.4-litre i-VTEC unit which makes 188 hp at 7000 rpm and 222 Nm @ 4400 rpm. While both 2WD and AWD versions get a 5-speed automatic gearbox as standard on most variants, the former comes with a 6-speed manual transmission in the basic trim.
