Nissan India will launch the 2014 Sunny facelift on July 3, after having shown the sedan at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The facelift brings to the sedan redesigned headlights, grille, bumpers and a host of new features.
Inside, the refreshed Sunny gets a piano-black center console, a new 3-spoke steering wheel, a brand new music system with Bluetooth connectivity, reverse camera, parking sensors, refreshed seat fabrics and door inserts. On the top-end option pack of the Sunny diesel, customers can choose between leather seats or side airbags.
The Sunny will continue to be offered with 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor in the Sunny produces 99 PS when equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, and 101 PS with Nissan’s X-Tronic CVT. Irrespective of the gearbox, the petrol engine churns 134 Nm of torque.
The Sunny diesel with outputs of 86 PS and 200 Nm of torque is now a tad more fuel efficient than its predecessor. Thanks to an ECU remap, the diesel Sunny achieves 22.71 km/l as against 21.64 km/l of the previous model.
The Sunny facelift will be offered in a total of 8 variants – 3 petrol and 5 diesel – and a new body color will also be offered.
