The Xcent marks Hyundai's entry into the wildly competitive sub-4meter compact sedan segment in India. It is built on the Grand i10's platform and will get both petrol and diesel engines, and both manual and automatic transmission.

The Xcent receives a host of features like dual tone beige and black interiors that include the seats, rear aircon vents (like in the Grand i10), smart key with push button start, automatic air conditioning, 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, electro-chromic mirror and safety features like ABS and dual airbags.

As always with Hyundai cars, you can expect the Xcent to come in Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta variants. The 'Made for India' sedan will be competing in a segment that has averaged around 30,000 units in sales each month as of February. The segment is, at present, seeing stiff competition between the Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire.

The Amaze is doing so well for Honda that it recently announced that its new plant in Tapukara will take up production of the sedan along with the Greater Noida facility.
