NAIAS Live: Lexus LF-NX concept returns in Detroit

Karthik H, A bit of a car freak and a bike nut, and a fan of trucks and technology too. Expect sharp stories that focus on those four fronts. As always, stay tuned to for quick and unassuming updates from across the world.

The Lexus LF-NX concept is Lexus’ answer to the growing need for compact crossovers and it was shown for the first time in the U.S. at the ongoing Detroit Auto Show.

The LF-NX concept gets the first ever turbocharged engine made by Lexus, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit with a twinscroll turbo that, the company claims, paves the way for turbocharged powertrains in future Lexus models. At 4,650 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, the Lexus LF-NX concept is more compact than the RX luxury utility vehicle.

The LF-NX concept retains Lexus’ aggressive design language, with three diamond-shaped LED headlamps and independent daytime running lights, which are underscored by strips of LED that double up as a turn indicator.
