Lexus is gearing up to introduce the BS-VI ES in India. The company will continue selling the luxury executive sedan in the 300h engine variant post the leap from BS-IV to BS-VI.
The seventh-gen Lexus ES features a sharply-styled front-end with the newest iteration of the Lexus signature spindle grille. The styling up-front is set in-line with the LC coupe and LS flagship. At the back, it gets a sharply chiselled facade with wraparound LED taillamps comprising a distinctive three-dimensional, L- shaped design.
The seventh-gen Lexus ES 300h is based on the company's Global Architecture – K (GA-K). It sources its power from a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine which is offered with the fourth-gen Lexus Hybrid Drive System. The engine comes mated to the E-CVT (Electronic - Continuously Variable Transmission). The luxury compact sedan accelerates from standstill to 100 km/hr in close to 8.5 seconds and can reach up to a top speed of 180 km/hr. In terms of dimensions, it measures 4,975 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,445 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,870 mm.
The safety features of the Lexus ES 300h include 10 airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution), Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Tyre Inflation Pressure Warning with Auto Location, Anti Theft System with siren, intrusion (break-in) sensor and tilt sensor, impact sensing fuel cut, power doorlock with speed lock function, power windows with jam protection and speed control and emergency brake signal.
