The Fiat Strada is the best selling pickup truck in Brazil, and in fact its one of the best selling cars in the country.
Regular Indian Autos Blog readers know that Fiat is currently working on the new Strada which incorporates refreshed looks and a very narrow rear door on the passenger side. The current double cab Strada has only two doors and the entry into the second row is through the folding front passenger seat.
Autossegredos.com.br has managed to capture the shell of the new Strada that was waiting in the factory to become a complete car.
In a bid to make the ingress and egress easy for the rear occupants, the refreshed Strada gets a small rear suicide door on the right side of the vehicle. Looking more like an emergency exit, the rear door is hinged to the C-Pillar rather than the B-Pillar for ease of access.
Apart from the rear door, the refreshed pickup truck based on the Palio platform gets a minor restyling to the front and rear fascias. The front gets a new grille and bumper while the vertical rear combination lights make way for horizontal wraparound units. The loading bay would have higher walls improving the storage volume.
The current car's 1.6-litre and 1.8-litre flex fuel engines would be retained but there are also speculations that the base variant could adopt the Palio's 1.4 litre mill.
The new Fiat Strada is expected to be launched by early next year.
