Ford will soon announce a sedan based on the new Ford Ka Concept, which was unveiled in Brazil a couple of days ago. Road tests of the upcoming Ford Ka Sedan have commenced with the first set of spyshots emerging from the United States.

After taking a look at the Ka concept, our render artist, Shoeb, has come out with his projection of the Ka Sedan. In this rendering, Shoeb envisions a sedan with an overall length in the region of 4 meters, and design elements until the C-pillar are carried over from the Ka concept hatchback.

The new Ka Sedan has already commenced road tests in the United States. It will be based on the existing Figo's platform.

The Ka and Ka Sedan will be based on the existing Figo's platform, which in turn is based on the previous generation Mk5 Fiesta. By using a lighter type of steel, the overall weight of these cars would be reduced, thus optimizing their fuel efficiencies and emissions.

In Brazil, the Ka Sedan would replace the Fiesta ROCAM Sedan, while in India, we see this three-box sedan succeed the Classic. Competition comes from sedans such as the Hyundai HB20S and Toyota Etios in Brazil, while the Ka Sedan will rival the Etios and the upcoming Grand i10-based sedan in India.

We expect the sedan to borrow its engines from the Ka hatchback. Which means that the petrol variants could be powered by the 1.0-liter EcoBoost and 1.5-liter DuraTec engines, while the diesel powerplant would be the 1.4 or 1.5-liter Duratorq diesel engine.
