The BMW 116i Fashionista limited edition has been launched in Japan as a lifestyle product.
Limited to 490 units, the Fashionista gets a number of accessories to improve its style statement. The exterior of the Fashionista edition is differentiated by chrome finished slats in the kidney grille and 17-inch Y-shaped alloy wheels. The car is available in four exterior color options - Arupin White, Crimson Red, Deep Sea Blue and Mineral White.
The interior trim is made up of white acrylic, glass and Dakota Oyster leather upholstery with the Fashionista badge.
In terms of equipment, the premium hatchback receives a servotronic steering which weighs down at parking speeds, rear parking camera, park distance control, a handsfree telephone, heated front seats, light package (ambient lighting), lane departure warning, collision control and cruise control.
The BMW 116i is powered by a 1.6-litre TwinPower turbocharged petrol engine that develops 136bhp. The motor comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 116i Fashionista limited edition retails at 3.66 million Yen (around Rs. 24.22 lakhs). BMW claims that the additional equipment results in a benefit of 3,00,000 Yen (around 1.98 lakhs) to the customer.
The BMW 1 Series was just launched in India with the 116i being the entry level model. The car is priced from Rs. 20.9 lakhs (ex-showroom pan-India).
