The Tata Nano 2013 is the model year refresh which is expected to give the compact city runabout a shot in the arm before a major overhaul comes to the brand's rescue.
Overdrive.in has come up with the fully revealing spyshots of the car that was caught by one of its readers, Mr. Shubhankar. The car was busted when it was being filmed for the new ad campaign.
The car's rear is consistent with the test mules that were spied previously. Interestingly, the Nano 2013 incorporates the looks of the subtly different Tata Nano Concept that was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo last year. The chrome strip along the bonnet lip, a similar strip just above the rear bumper, and a ventilated rear bumper are all borrowed from the Auto Expo concept.
There is a new blue exterior color option in the lineup which we think looks cool! The rest of the car remains the same as the Nano 2012, including the interior. Unlike the current car, the 2013 model is expected to have a proper hatch door but we can't see any external provision to open it, perhaps it is opened through a release mounted near the pedals?

Apart from the current petrol version, the 2013 Tata Nano would be available with a CNG variant and a diesel variant, but not from launch day. The diesel engine is a 800cc turbocharged twin cylinder unit which is likely to produce 40 bhp of power (according to information provided by Garret, the turbocharger supplier).
The Nano 2012 was a significant improvement from the previous car and that puts a lot of weight on the 2013 iteration's shoulders to be an even better package. The filming of the ad suggests the Nano 2013 is not far away from its market launch.
