Test mules of the Q5 wearing frontal camouflage were starting to show up in testing points in Europe indicating the Audi is in the process of facelifting the Q5.
And indeed speculations were true. Thanks to our friends at Autoforum.cz, we have a comprehensive look at what Audi has in-store for us in the 2013 Audi Q5.
You will notice that the 2013 Audi Q5 is not very different than the older model. This is because it is just a subtle facelift. One can see a revised six-point grille, refreshed headlights and a slightly updated front bumper. Not many changes have been done to the rear.
Audi has replaced the hydraulic power steering with an electrical unit and this may lead to lower fuel consumption. The chassis has been modified for increased ride comfort. A range of petrol and diesel engines are on offer
Petrol Engines
- 3.0-liter TSFI with two state of tune 272PS and 329PS.
Diesel engines
- 2L TDI with 150 horses
- 3L TDI with 240 horses
- 3L twin turbo TDI power with 313 horses
A hybrid variant which has a 2.0 TSI petrol engine with 211 horse power mated to an electric motor, which offers up to 45 horsepower.
Audi assembles the Q5 at the Aurungabad plant in Maharashtra and we expect them to introduce this facelift later in the year perhaps as their Diwali gift.
Expect the new Q5 to make a debut at the Beijing Auto Expo.
