The example has additions of chrome all around and is ready to begin its second attempt at tapping the market populated by Toyota Camry, Volkswagen Magotan, Nissan Teana and Mazda 6.

The chromed Accord has been launched in China this week. There is no change of shape whatsoever and the visual enhancements are limited to usage of chrome. The front grill has more chrome than before and there are strips of chrome in the lower part of the front bumper on either side.

The tail lamps, window borders and rear bumpers are the other elements which get chrome.

The facelifted Honda Accord is made in China by the Guangzhou-Honda joint venture. The Chinese Accord will be offered in 2.0 litre and 2.4 litre petrol motors and a seven speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters in available with the latter. Honda has sacked the 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine.

One needn't be an industry expert to understand that petrol cars are loosing their significance in India and selling one has became an headache for the manufacturers. The likelihood of Honda offering this facelifted version in India in order to clear off the inventory is yet to be determined.
