The Indian subsidiary of the Same Deutz-Fahr Group (SDF India) which has been manufacturing Lamborghini tractors in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, primarily for the export markets, announced in Pune yesterday that it would focus more on India.
The company is making this announcement on the sidelines of the KISAN agricultural fare that is underway in Pune, where it is showcasing a new product.
Next year, SDF will launch the Lamborghini Green Pro G.27 H, a new 30 hp tractor and will eventually retail a 100 hp tractor as well. SDF says the 31-40 hp tractor segment is the biggest in our country, with a 46 percent market share.
The Lamborghini tractors are targeted at affluent farmers, golf courses, winyards and luxury resorts. The KISAN demo vehicle is fitted with tires that are designed for use on a golf course.
SDF India's tractor range is equipped with fuel efficient engines, forced fed lubrication transmission, synchromesh gearbox, and the highest PTO power in their class, its press release stated.
