Yamaha dealerships that IAB spoke to say that the all-new Yamaha FZ FI V3.0 will be launched in India on 21 January 2019. Readers know that Yamaha has invited the media to a conference on the same date.
The new Yamaha FZ FI V3.0 will receive a complete design overhaul along with mechanical upgrades. A production-ready test mule was spied testing on 24 December. The motorcycle will feature an all-LED headlamp and a digital instrument cluster along with a redesigned fuel tank, and faux radiator scoops. The design is inspired by the Yamaha FZ25.
The tail section on the Yamaha FZ FI V3.0 is updated as well, while a new single-piece seat replaces the split-seats on the outgoing model. The motorcycle features new 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels that are identical to the Yamaha FZ25, which is a departure from the older 5-spoke design. The FZ FI V3.0 comes equipped with new fenders at both the ends, while the rear tyre hugger is sourced from the FZ25.
India Yamaha Motor will be introducing two variants of the FZ V3.0 - Standard and FZ-S. The Yamaha FZ-S V3.0 will feature updated graphics, an engine belly cowl and a short windscreen. We don't expect any changes to the engine on the FZ V3.0. The motorcycle will continue to use a 149cc, fuel-injected motor that churns out 13.2 PS of power while developing 12.8 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
