Some Delhi dealers have informed IAB that the waiting period for the 2019 Maruti WagonR is 4-6 weeks currently. The all-new model was launched on 23 January 2019.
The latest iteration of the A2-segment hatchback features a bold front facade with chunky 'dual-split' headlamps, chrome applique on the upper grille, and a huge air dam. The highlight of the side profile is the blacked-out section on the C-pillar that results in a floating roof effect. The rear-end features a tall set of tail lamps that seems to have drawn inspiration from the latest Ertiga.
The interior features a dual-tone beige-black colour scheme, while the top-spec ZXi trim comes kitted out with many features, including a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, day/night IRVM, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, tilt-adjustable steering, and steering-mounted audio controls. The standard safety suite across all trims comprises front seat-belt reminder (SBR), central locking, door ajar warning, rear parking sensors, speed alert warning, ABS with EBD, and a driver-side airbag.
Underpinning the 2019 Maruti Wagon R is the fifth generation Heartect platform. The new model is available with two petrol engine options - K10B 1.0-litre three-cylinder and K12M 1.2-litre four-cylinder. The former outputs 67.98 PS/90 Nm, while the latter offers 82.94 PS/113 Nm. Both the powertrains are available with a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT. While the base motor provides an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 22.5 km/l, the bigger engine offers 21.5 km/l in the regulatory test cycle.
