Paired to 5-MT and 7-DSG transmissions.
The Skoda Rapid facelift and the 2017 VW Vento will be the next contenders for the updated 110 PS 1.5-liter TDI diesel engine which recently launched on the VW Ameo. This engine is identical to the outgoing 1.5-liter motor in every aspect save for the turbocharger. VW India is now using a larger, India-made turbocharger which results in a higher power output.
Power output increases by 5 PS to 110 PS though the torque output remains the same at 250 Nm. The increased power output will shave off around 0.5 seconds in the 0-100 km/h sprint. The updated engine will continue to be available with 5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic transmissions though.
While the exterior of the Skoda Rapid facelift will see changes to the headlight clusters and hood, the 2017 VW Vento will continue relatively unchanged; a new top-end Highline Plus variant will be introduced with LED headlights and integrated LED daytime running lights.

Inside, the Rapid facelift has been spied with a larger touchscreen entertainment system with the MirrorLink feature, combining a reverse camera, GPS navigation and Bluetooth support. There are no further changes to speak, though a revised seat upholstery could be seen on the sedan.
