The India-bound Skoda Kodiaq SUV has made its motor show debut in Paris. It is the Czech manufacturer’s first ever mid-size SUV, which will go on sale in Europe from early-2017, and arrive in India in the second half of that year.
The Kodiaq’s design comprises of characteristic angular lines, Skoda’s butterfly grille, sleek two tier headlamps, and LED taillamps. It measures 4,697 mm long, 1,882 mm wide, 1,667 mm tall and has a 2,791 mm wheelbase.
The Kodiaq is the first 7-seater from Skoda, offering a conventional pair of foldable seats in the third row as an option. It has a boot volume of 720L (with third row folded), which can be increased to 2,065L with the second row folded.
At launch, the Kodiaq’s engine lineup will include three petrol and two diesel options. A 1.4 TSI will be available in two power states: 125 PS and 155 PS, while a bigger 2.0 TSI produces 180 PS. The diesel variants will pack a 2.0 TDI engine also available in two outputs: 150 PS and 190 PS. A 6-speed manual and DSG gearbox are the transmission options, while an AWD system is available in all variants except the base 125 PS 1.4 TSI.
