Indonesia received a new ‘VRS’ variant of the VW Polo at the IIMS 2018 this month. A walkaround video from Autonetmagz shows the VW Polo VRS’ exterior and interior in detail.
The VW Polo VRS is a sportier variant of the regular VW Polo. Volkswagen has stylised it with black and white underbody spoilers and side skirts, black ORVMs, VRS-branded grey decals on the sides, black roof and black roof spoiler. The car’s interior is not sporty like its exterior, though. The engine lying under its hood is its selling point.
The VW Polo VRS sports a differently tuned version of the VW Polo GT TSI’s 1.2L TSI engine. While the regular version of this turbocharged four-cylinder petrol mill delivers 105 PS and 175 Nm of torque, the VRS-spec puts out 140 PS and 230 Nm of torque.

The VW Polo GT TSI, known as VW Polo 1.2 TSI in Indonesia, retails at IDR 232 million (INR 11,08,689.37). The VW Polo VRS will cost INR 308 million (INR 14,72,099.50) when it goes on sale.
If launched in India it would slot between the VW Polo GT and VW GTI (VW Polo GTI), and go directly against the Fiat Abarth Punto.
