Could be priced at INR 14 lakhs.
Carwale reports that the VW Polo GTI, which was snapped testing in Pune recently, will be launched in March 2016 in India.
The Polo GTI is powered by the 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine that is seen aboard the Skoda Octavia and the Audi A3. It produces 177 bhp of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque on the Polo GTI. The Polo GTI could be offered with the seven-speed DSG automatic transmission in India, though it is available in certain international markets with the choice of a manual transmission as well.
Corresponding to the hike in power, the suspension and braking systems of the Polo GTI are also beefed up. These components would be imported to India whereas the powertrain is already being imported for the Audi and Skoda models.
