Will be listed on the market this year.
The China-only VW Gran Santana station wagon has been unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2015. Going by Chinese media reports, the car will be listed on the market within the year.
The wagon has the same wheelbase as the Santana sedan (2,603 mm) that launched in 2012, and is equipped with a 1.4TSI engine driven via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. For added safety, the car comes with six airbags and ESP.
The car has more chrome content than the sedan, with a chrome bar grille that continues into the headlight detailing. A chrome bumper bar extends across the front, and connects the fog lamps.
Though VW has not disclosed specifications, its length/breadth/height is reportedly 4282mm/1706mm/1475mm.
The interior is shared with the sedan, and it is seen getting a new multimedia entertainment system with touch screen, leather seats, three-spoke steering wheel with call answer and audio buttons, faux wood dashboard trim, chrome inlays on the air con vents, climate control and gear shifter, and height adjustable headrest for rear passengers. This is Volkswagen's second estate in the Chinese budget car segment after the Gran Lavida.
