Updated model range to go on sale in November 2016.
According to Car Advice, the next VW Amarok will go on sale from mid-2016 in key markets, before reaching Australia in November 2016.
Although not many changes will be seen outside, the VW Amarok facelift will feature an improved cabin, new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto to feature, alongside new trims and, active safety equipment.
The 2.0 TDI engine lineup is likely to be retained in the facelifted model, with power output ranging from 138 bhp to 177 bhp, mated either to a manual or an automatic transmission, sending power to rear or all four wheels.

Volkswagen Australia boss, Carlos Santos, has admitted that the Amarok has a little way to go before it attains the tough image and “street cred” of rivals such as the Toyoa Hilux. The next generation Volkswagen Amarok could be tailored to suit Australian needs, which will be revealed closer to 2020.
