Triumph Motorcycles recently extended its product portfolio in India with the launch of the Speed Twin. The company will soon add another model to the Indian market, the Scrambler 1200, in June 2019. But when can we expect to see BS-VI compliant motorcycles from the British two-wheeler brand?

Shoeb Farooq, General Manager, Triumph Motorcycles India, confirmed in a recent interview to NDTV Auto that the BS-VI Triumph models would start arriving in India around the end of 2019. Farooq said:
The good part this time with this transition is that the timelines are very clear, and every manufacturer has a decent amount of time to manage the whole transition. So, we have also put specifics together, and I think around December 2019, we'll start supplying our BS6 variants into the market, and post that we'll be changing the whole range to BS6.
The company will clear the BS-IV/Euro-IV stock before it introduces the BS-VI models. On that matter, Farooq said:
We have to ensure that all our stocks are liquidated by March 31. So, that's what we are all working for. We are working backwards from March 31 and trying to see what kind of stocks are required. So, we would like to sell till March 31, but we don't want to have a situation where we are left with more than required stocks, either with us or the dealerships.
Farooq also stated that while all existing products will get the BS-VI upgrade, some models may take longer than others. He remained tight-lipped about the exact timeline for the completion of BS-VI upgrade.
As for the Triumph Scrambler 1200 arriving next month, it will be launched in the base (XC) variant. The XE version could follow if there is enough demand. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 will compete with the BMW R NineT Scrambler and the Ducati Scrambler 1100.
