Triumph have entered India with a 10 member strong product portfolio this afternoon. In this post, we take a look at the six Triumphs that would be locally assembled at the company's Manesar facility.
Triumph will have 9 dealers in place by March 2014. By December 2013, two dealerships will commence sales in Bangalore and Hyderabad. Mumbai and New Delhi will get their dealer outlets in January 2014, while cities like Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad and Cochin are expected to get their outlets later on next year.
Triumph is targeting volumes of 400-500 units in the first 6 months, and bookings will start in the 2nd week of December. A 2 year unlimited mileage warranty is offered standard.
1. Triumph Bonneville
The Bonneville is the most affordable Triumph you can buy at INR 5.7 lakhs. Power comes from an air-cooled, 865cc, DOHC, parallel-twin engine putting out 68 PS and 68 Nm of torque, and matched to a 5-speed gearbox.
2. Triumph Bonneville T100
Priced at INR 6.6 lakhs, the T100 will be the second model in Triumph's lineup. The engine specifications of the T100 are the same as the Bonneville on which it is based.
3. Triumph Daytona 675R
The 675R gets its power from a liquid-cooled, 675cc, in-line, three-cylinder engine producing 128 PS and 74 Nm of torque, driven by a 6-speed gearbox. Its priced at INR 11.4 lakhs.
4. Triumph Street Triple
Though the Street Triple features the same 675cc engine (albeit with different bore and stroke dimensions), its power and torque outputs are lower at 106 PS and 68 Nm. Triumph have priced it at INR 7.5 lakhs.
5. Triumph Speed Triple
Powered by a 1,050cc, in-line, three-cylinder engine, the Speed Triple puts out an impressive 135 PS and 111 Nm of torque. The Speed Triple is priced at INR 10.4 lakhs.
6. Triumph Thruxton
The classic Thruxton's 865cc engine outputs 69 PS and 69 Nm of torque. It is priced at INR 6.7 lakhs.
