Launch expected to take place in first week of May.
Autocar India reports that the Toyota Innova Crysta will be available in five variants when launched in the first week of May. The variants are 2.4 GX MT, 2.8 GX AT, 2.4 VX MT, 2.4 ZX MT, 2.8 ZX AT.
It appears that the 6-speed automatic transmission is exclusive to models powered by the 2.8L turbodiesel engine, which is even available in the base GX grade. The less powerful 2.4L GD turbodiesel unit is only offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Both engines will be equipped with PWR and ECO mode selectors.
The standard and optional equipment in the three grades will be revealed at launch, although we know that higher grades will feature smart entry system with start/stop button, auto-close for tailgate, airbags as standard along with ABS, EBD and BA, automatic climate control, 7-inch audio system with navigation, powered driver’s seat, front seat with easy slide from rear, 1-touch tumble for 2nd row seats and third row seats.
Compared to the first gen Innova, the Innova Crysta (second gen Innova) has grown by 150 mm in length, 70 mm in width and 35 mm in height, although the wheelbase is identical. It measures 4,735 mm long, 1,830 mm wide and 1,795 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.
