Will be called the new 'Platinum Etios'.
A Toyota dealership in Mumbai is showcasing the Toyota Etios facelift, ahead of its market launch reported to take place tomorrow. Apparently, it will be called the Toyota Platinum Etios, which is inspired by the facelifted Etios Platinum launched recently in Brazil.
As seen in many images recently, the front-end has undergone a comprehensive facelift. It features a new V-shaped grille with chrome surrounds, sportier bumper with larger intakes, as well as round foglamps that sit beside boomerang-shaped chrome accents. At the back, the bumper has been slightly re-profiled and the bootlid has a bolder chrome garnish positioned to the middle.
Changes inside the new Etios are minimal. It gets a revised instrument cluster housing a redesigned speedometer and a digital tachometer, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio buttons, a dual tone grey and ivory dashboard, new beige fabric seats, power-operated ORVMs, foldable rear bench seat, and an armrest for the rear seat.
TKM has not confirmed the engine lineup, but it is likely to retain the 1.5L petrol engine and 1.4L D-4D turbodiesel engine. The report claims that Toyota has improved the clutch system in diesel variants and front shock absorbers have also been tweaked for better ride quality.
