Tata Motors had teased five new models ahead of their Auto Expo 2018 yesterday. One of these models is allegedly a concept that will evolve into the Tata X451 hatchback. Today, the company has released another teaser of the new small hatchback concept.
The Tata X451 concept’s teaser doesn’t show much of its design, except a little portion of the front-end. The dramatically designed headlamps are sleeker than even those of the Range Rover Evoque and reminiscent of the Mitsubishi XM Concept. The bumper has sharp cuts at the corners and the windshield looks quite rakish. The teaser released yesterday showed a falling roofline and a rising shoulder line on the concept.
The Tata X451 will incorporate the brand’s new IMPACT 2.0 design language, an evolution of the IMPACT design language. It will debut the new Advanced Modular Platform that will underpin a number of other future models, including a Hyundai Verna rival.
Tata Motors will offer the X451 with a more powerful version of the Tiago’s 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine (80 PS/114 Nm) and a more powerful version of the Tiago’s 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel (70 PS/140 Nm) featuring Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT). The Nexon’s 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine (110 PS/170 Nm) will follow as another option at a later stage.
