Tata Motors has asked dealers to display the Tata Tigor at showrooms ahead of its national launch tomorrow. Last week the company announced that it has started accepting pre-orders for the country's first 'Styleback' for INR 5,000.
The Tata Tigor is the production version of the Tata KITE 5 concept from Auto Expo 2016. The Tigor embodies the company's IMPACT design language and sits in the sub-compact class. It measures 3,992 mm in length, 1,677 mm in width and 1,537 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm. There's 419 litres of space available in the car's boot.

The Tata Tigor is available with the same engines as the Tata Tiago hatchback on which it is based. The petrol model gets the 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder unit that develops 85 PS at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The diesel model is powered by the 1.05-litre Revotorq three-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 70 PS at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1,800 rpm and 3,000. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, and customers willing for an automatic model will have to wait for only a few months, our sources say.
