Tata Motors today officially revealed the technical specifications and product details of the Tiago JTP, the performance variant of its A2-segment car. The new model will launch on 26 October.
In line with the sporty intent of the new powertrain, the Tata Tiago JTP features several styling enhancements for a racier appearance. The front-end boasts a new bumper with a black diffuser, a revised grille with a JTP badge and twin-pod projector headlamps with chrome inserts. In the side profile, the new model sports 15-inch machined alloy wheels shod with 185/65-spec rubber, bold side skirts, JTP badges on the front fenders, and contrast-coloured ORVMs.
The rear-end features a roof-mounted spoiler, updated bumper, and a twin barrel muffler cutter. Additionally, the car is available with dual-tone exterior paint schemes with a gloss-black finish on the roof. Moreover, the chrome trim has been replaced with gloss-black inserts.
The Tata Tiago JTP has an all-black interior that features sporty red accents on the AC vents, leather-wrapped steering wheel with contrast red stitching, updated seat fabric with a red hexagonal pattern, and red sewing on the seat covers. To complement the sporty intentions, the car has been kitted out with aluminium pedals. Taking a centre-stage on the dashboard is a Harman ConnectNext infotainment system with eight speakers and voice recognition feature.
Powering the new Tata Tiago JTP is a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that outputs a maximum power 114 PS at 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 150 Nm between 2000-4000 rpm. The motor comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission, with gear ratios optimised for brisk acceleration. The new model offers Sport and City drive modes, while the exhaust is the twin barrel type for a sportier note. The company claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.95-seconds.
The safety net for the Tata Tiago JTP comprises dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, and reverse parking sensors and camera. The suspension has been re-tuned to offer enhanced road handling manners. Other than this, the electric power steering has been re-tuned to provide a sportier experience, while the ride height has been lowered by 4 mm.

The Tata Tiago JTP is expected to be priced at approximately INR 7 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of Maruti Baleno RS, Volkswagen Polo GT twins, and the Ford Figo Sport.
