The Tata Nexon has started reaching dealer showrooms now. Here are images of a Nexon in Sundown Grey (TBC) colour from a Calicut dealership, courtesy Team-BHP. The Nexon in the images is in the XZ+ grade, which is the range-topper.
The Tata Nexon is Tata Motors' first small SUV. Created using the IMPACT design language, the Nexon is the last model developed on the basis of the X1 platform. The B-SUV is 3,995 mm long, 1,811 mm wide and 1,607 mm tall, and has a 2,498 mm-long wheelbase. It has an exceptionally high ground clearance of 209 mm.
The Nexon debuts a newly-developed 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine for the brand. This four-cylinder unit is tuned for 110 PS and 260 Nm of torque. The Nexon has a petrol option too, which is a more powerful iteration of the 1.2-litre Revotron (turbocharged) engine. The three-cylinder mill produces 110 PS and 170 Nm of torque in the sub-compact SUV. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard across the range. An AMT option will follow by early 2018.
On the outside, the Tata Nexon features projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels and LED tail lamps. Engine start-stop button, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and front & rear central armrest are the interior highlights. Safety and driver assistance features include dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and CSC and parking sensors and camera.
